Fahed Nsour 

Fahed Nsour, the founder of the firm, was educated at the University of Damascus. He began his legal career in 1960 when he was appointed as a prosecutor and later as a judge, serving across all levels of the judiciary. In parallel with his judicial career, he held several senior public positions, including serving as a legal adviser to the Prime Minister. In 1978, he established the firm and practiced law until 1988, when he was again appointed as legal adviser to the Prime Minister. In 1993, he was appointed as a justice of the Supreme Court, a position he held until his resignation in 1997. He then returned to private practice until 2004, when he was appointed Attorney General of Jordan and Minister of Justice. From 2012 to 2018, he served as a Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court, during which time he also held the position of Vice Chief Justice. Throughout his career, Fahed Nsour played a central role in shaping Jordan’s judicial and constitutional landscape and remains widely regarded as one of the country’s most distinguished jurists.

Mohammad F. A. Nsour

Dr. Mohammad Nsour is a distinguished arbitration practitioner with extensive experience in high-stakes international disputes, complemented by a robust academic and advisory career.He earned his LL.B. from the University of Jordan Faculty of Law and his LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law in New York, where he served on the Fordham International Law Journal. Following this, he interned at Alston & Bird LLP in New York. He then pursued his doctorate at McGill University’s Faculty of Law in Canada under Professor Armand de Mestral, serving as his research assistant and as a lecturer in the Faculty of Law, obtaining his Ph.D. in 2009. Since 2009, Dr. Mohammad has practiced in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates as a leading lawyer and legal consultant, specializing in arbitration, corporate law, and regulatory advisory. As a seasoned arbitration practitioner, he has acted as lead counsel and arbitrator in numerous multi-million-dollar disputes across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Notable cases include:

  • Representing a major Jordanian mega-projects contractor (wholly owned by the Jordan Armed Forces) in arbitration proceedings, successfully resolving claims exceeding $15 million related to infrastructure delays and variations in a cross-border highway project.
  • Serving as lead counsel for a Jordanian energy firm in an ICC arbitration seated in Paris against a European consortium, securing a favourable award of $7.5 million USD in a dispute over oil and gas exploration rights.
  • Acting as arbitrator in a DIAC-seated ad hoc arbitration involving a $12 million USD telecommunications contract dispute between UAE and Saudi entities, addressing complex quantum issues and breach of performance guarantees.
  • Leading the defense for a Middle Eastern investment fund in an LCIA arbitration in London, resulting in the dismissal of $20 million USD claims arising from a failed real estate joint venture in the GCC region.
  • Representing clients in UNCITRAL arbitrations related to renewable energy projects, including a $90 million USD solar farm dispute in North Africa, where he navigated intricate regulatory and force majeure claims.

Dr. Mohammad has appeared in institutional arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, DIAC, and UNCITRAL rules, as well as ad hoc proceedings, with a focus on construction, commercial, energy, and infrastructure sectors. His expertise in in disputes has led to successful outcomes in claims totalling over $200 million USD.

In addition to his arbitration practice, Dr. Mohammad regularly advises the Government of Jordan on policy, legislation, and international economic law. His contributions include serving as national consultant to the International Trade Centre on Jordan’s National Export Strategy, acting as regulatory and infrastructure expert for the EU-funded €33 million Trade and Transport Facilitation Programme in Jordan, drafting key provisions of Jordan’s Public-Private Partnership Law, participating in uranium-exploration agreement negotiations, and advising on the implementation of major trade and investment agreements.

Academically, Dr. Mohammad is a full professor of law at the University of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), where he teaches commercial law, international trade law, and arbitration, while supervising graduate research. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and speaks frequently at international conferences on topics such as corporate governance, international trade law, arbitration, and Islamic legal traditions. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.

Sahel Rawashdeh 

Sahel earned his LL.B. from the University of Jordan, Faculty of Law, and brings extensive experience in advising clients across a wide spectrum of civil and commercial law matters. His practice encompasses comprehensive legal counsel on corporate transactions, including structuring, due diligence, regulatory compliance, and shareholder relations. Sahel has successfully litigated numerous high-value disputes arising from corporate mergers and acquisitions, contributing to the development of several landmark judicial precedents in this area. In addition, his experience spans securities regulation, construction and real estate disputes, insurance claims, and complex commercial litigation. Sahel has also represented clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, as well as in appraisals and mediation, earning a reputation for strategic advocacy and sound commercial judgment.

Hala Nsour

Hala is a highly experienced legal professional with over two decades of expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and international arbitration. Currently serving as a counselor and attorney at Nsour  & Associates, she has played a key role in managing and advising on complex legal matters across multiple sectors, including telecommunications, intellectual property, and anti-corruption initiatives.

Her extensive career includes serving for 20 years as the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer at the Jordan Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, where she led a team of legal professionals and handled significant arbitration cases representing the Jordanian Government. Hala has also been an active participant in various committees focused on governance, legal frameworks, and anti-corruption efforts with the government.

In addition to her professional practice, Hala is dedicated to women’s empowerment and has contributed significantly to community initiatives promoting education and employment opportunities for women. With a strong foundation in both domestic and international law, Hala is recognized for her leadership, strategic vision, and dedication to promoting transparency and good governance in the Jordanian legal field.
