Firm Profile

The law firm of Nsour & Rawashdeh was established by the Honorable Fahed Abulethem Nsour in 1978. Since 1960, Mr. Nsour served as a judge in various courts, and in 2004 he was appointed Minister of Legal Affairs, a position he held until 2005. Today, through its offices in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, the firm provides strong legal and consultancy services across a wide range of practice areas, including commercial transactions, banking, real estate, labor and employment, cross border investment, and international trade.

For more than three decades, Nsour & Rawashdeh has advised and represented a diverse client base that includes major banks, leading mobile telecommunications companies in the Middle East, large mineral and industrial enterprises, prominent importers and exporters, and high profile public figures. The firm has also played a central role in the restructuring of distressed companies and has handled numerous complex bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.

The firm has been extensively involved in high value arbitration and investment dispute resolution across the region, including multi million dollar arbitration proceedings, both by serving on arbitral tribunals and by representing clients in complex commercial and investment arbitrations. Nsour & Rawashdeh is frequently called upon to participate in legislative drafting and to advise governments on regulatory and policy matters of national and regional importance.

Under the leadership of Professor Mohammad F. A. Nsour, the firm has developed a particular focus on arbitration, regulatory advisory work, and complex dispute resolution. Nsour & Associates has represented clients and served in arbitral proceedings before leading regional institutions, including the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Tahkeem), and the Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC), as well as in ad hoc and institutional arbitrations governed by UK and UAE laws. Many of these proceedings involved substantial claims and commercially sensitive disputes with significant financial exposure.

The firm has also contributed to several internationally funded consultancy and reform projects, including the drafting of Jordan’s National Export Strategy, the Trade and Transport Facilitation Program, and the Jordan Branding Initiative. Professor Nsour has further served as a principal drafter of major regional legislation, including Jordan’s Public Private Partnership Law, the United Arab Emirates’ Commercial Transactions Law, and Saudi Arabia’s Health Law.

Nsour & Rawashdeh also maintains a sister company in the United Arab Emirates, Eagle & Stones Legal Advisory LLC, chaired by Professor Mohammad Nsour. Operating from Dubai, Eagle & Stones focuses on arbitration, bankruptcy, corporate restructuring, and complex commercial disputes, advising regional and international clients involved in high value and cross border matters.
